Frequently Asked Questions

  General
  1. How do I know if a pair of frames will suit me?

The most important factors are the shape of the frames and their size, certain shapes suit certain faces better than others. Here's our suggestions

Oval Faces: The easiest to match - most frames will suit, for an oval face the size is the most important factor.
Round Faces:Rectangle frames are likely to be most suitable
Square Faces: Oval shaped or round frames are best suited
Rectangle Faces: Oval and round styles again but medium or large sized model will be best. Triangle Faces: Rectangle frames are your recommended option.

  2. What if my spectacles need minor adjustments for comfort?

Unfortunately we are unable to offer the adjustments your optician can provide.

  3. Do you accept vouchers?

Sorry, we don't accept NHS or other voucher at present.

  4. Can you supply lenses with Prims or bifocals & varifocals?

Can you supply Bifocals. Yes, Bifocals are set at the standard 3mm below lens datum and at your P.D centrally. Can you supply lenses with Prisms or Varifocals. As these types of lenses require precise measurements with the frame on your face we cannot offer them yet.

  5. Can I have any of the frames made as sunglasses? Any of our frames can be made into sunglasses just select the frame and the sunglass tint option and leave prescription boxes emtpy to indicate plain lenses.

  1. I don't have a copy of my prescription?

All opticians are obliged to provide you with a copy of your prescription when you have an eye test. If you didn't recieve a copy all you have to do is ask and your prescription will be freely provided.

  2. My prescription does not have any sphere values?

While not common it is possible, for instance if you have astigmatism ( this just means your eye is not a perfect sphere and is very common but otherwise normal vision ). Similary you may only require spectacles for reading in which case there maybe no cylinder or axis value.

  3. My prescription does not have any Cylinder or axis values?

This is more common - the cyl and axis are to correct the shape of the eye ball.

This is an addition to the prescription that may be required if you require a separate prescription for reading.

  7. There no PD on my prescription?

This is normal. The PD is measured when you buy the glasses from the opticians. It is easier if you get a freind to measure it for you
